About Me

Macy is a high school sophomore in Kansas City.  She is driven to make a positive difference in the world and to touch as many lives as possible, through dance and through kindness and compassion.  Macy is a competitive dancer at Le Dance Studio, under the direction of Liz Ernst, and also dances with Defy Dance Project, a pre-professional dance company under the direction of Haley Kostas.

Macy is honored to dance among her friends as a part of the Blue Valley Southwest High School Glitter Girls.  Miss Macy is one of the strongest examples of staying true to who you are and never compromising integrity in the pursuit of her goals.  She feels extremely fortunate to share her story and will challenge all to “Get M.A.D” and “Make A Difference”.

MORE ABOUT MACY

Determination

In 2016, Macy experienced a significant setback with a broken ankle.  The doctors told her she would not be healed in time to compete.  Macy did not concede.  She studied her team dances from the sidelines, marked when she could and rehearsed endlessly in her mind.  Macy came back that season.  The level of determination to compete and not let her team down changed her as a dancer.  Macy emerged from her injury and danced on to do something she had never done before in winning Ms. Teen Revolution, Ms. Teen Legacy, Ms. Teen Masquerade, National Ms. Teen Masquerade, along with solo champion and soloist of the year for Masquerade Dance Competition.

PASSION

Dance is Macy’s sanctuary.  It’s the place she goes to find peace, comfort and to express herself.  Her passion for dance extends beyond the potential of her physical ability.  Macy’s goal is to create a vehicle through which she can financially support dancers in need, create meaningful experiences and “Make A Difference”.  She will confidently earn her way into opportunities that will contribute to achieving her goal.
